ABOUT COLUMBIA CAPITAL GROUP

Columbia Capital Group (CCG) is a private equity multifamily real estate syndication company. Our goal is to identify inefficiencies in the middlemarket multifamily segment, and acquire assets below their real value.

We apply targeted acquisition strategies and active asset management to provide consistent risk-adjusted returns for our investors. Our investment strategy is focused on the Pacific Northwest region, targeting existing Class B and C multifamily properties with identifiable value and upside generated by driving annual NOI through physical renovations, operational improvements, or both.

CODY HAGERMAN

FOUNDER

Before founding Columbia Capital Group in 2013, Cody co-founded HFO Investment Real Estate, which has grown under his leadership to become the largest multifamily-exclusive commercial brokerage in the Pacific Northwest. With 29 years of multifamily investment sales and advisory experience, Cody has brokered transactions involving nearly 7,000 units valued at more than $1.5 billion. His in-depth knowledge and ability to forecast trends in the multifamily sector make him an invaluable resource for investors. Cody is consistently sought out by national, institutional, and regional ownership groups to advise and execute on dispositions, acquisitions, and strategic positioning during hold periods. Cody has led teams on some of the region’s most complex and creative transactions. He earned his B.S. in Financial Management from the University of Montana.

BLAINE WHITNEY

PARTNER

Blaine has over fifteen years of commercial real estate acquisition and development experience. His executive leadership experience includes working with institutional and private equity across the country in multiple areas, including multifamily, condo conversion, senior housing, and retail. Blaine is a licensed attorney and brings a wealth of knowledge in contracts, land use, syndication, and securities. Before joining CCG, Blaine syndicated over $250M of mixed-use multifamily development in the Portland market, overseeing land-use, legal, finance, investor relations, and retail leasing. Blaine is passionate about the impact of technology on commercial real estate and has consulted for both the crowdfunding and short-term rental industries. Blaine earned his undergraduate degree from Loyola Marymount University. He earned his J.D. and MBA from Pepperdine University and was admitted to the California State Bar in 2002.
